President of the National Dialogue Party, MP Fouad Makhzoumi, received Air Marshal Sir Sami Sampson, Senior Adviser to the UK Chief of the Defence Staff for the Middle East, at his office in downtown Beirut, in the presence of Political Advisor Carol Zouein.
Makhzoumi emphasized the importance of bilateral relations between Lebanon and the United Kingdom. He thanked the UK for its efforts to support Lebanon as it seeks to overcome the difficult circumstances it is facing.
Makhzoumi also stressed that he would spare no effort in working with all those committed to electing a sovereign president capable of leading Lebanon toward recovery, in order to accelerate the election process. He emphasized that Parliament must remain in session until a president is elected and Lebanon is set on the path to recovery.
