President of the National Dialogue Party, MP Fouad Makhzoumi, and his wife, Mrs. May, hosted a dinner at their residence in honor of a large delegation from the Global Political Exchange Foundation, on the sidelines of the 21st Beirut Exchange Conference.

Also attending the dinner were CNN correspondent Brent Sadler; MP Makhzoumi’s team, including Political Adviser Mrs. Carol Zouein, Media Adviser Mr. Bernard Bredi, and Diplomatic Adviser and former Ambassador Bassam Noumani; Deputy Secretary-General of the National Dialogue Party Dr. Duraid Oweidat and his wife, Mrs. Lina Makhzoumi Oweidat, who serves as Public Relations Officer; as well as a number of businesspeople and media professionals. The attendees discussed local, regional, and international developments.

In his welcoming remarks, Makhzoumi stated that the international community must exert greater pressure to ensure the election of a President of the Republic and the implementation of the reforms demanded by the International Monetary Fund (IMF). He stressed that the situation in the country continues to deteriorate and that it is essential to put an end to procrastination and wasted time.

Makhzoumi added that the Lebanese people are awaiting an end to these difficult circumstances, with the support of the international community, leading to the election of a President of the Republic and the formation of an effective government with a comprehensive reform and rescue plan that would gradually alleviate their suffering and resolve their crises. He emphasized that such a government must also be capable of coordinating with the international community and restoring Lebanon’s place among successful nations.
