Makhzoumi Foundation, represented by its founder and honorary president, MP Fouad Makhzoumi, signed an agreement with Caretaker Health Minister Dr. Hamad Hassan to import Pfizer vaccines through the Ministry of Health.
Following a visit to Minister Hassan at his office at the ministry, Makhzoumi praised the tremendous efforts of the Ministry of Health, which have been recognized both locally and internationally. He noted that the Makhzoumi Foundation considers itself a small partner of the ministry, particularly through the cooperation between the ministry and the foundation’s primary healthcare centers.
He thanked the minister for supporting the foundation’s initiative, explaining that COVID-19 vaccinations would be provided free of charge to those wishing to receive them and who had registered in advance through the dedicated vaccination platform, starting in June, when the vaccines were expected to arrive. He added that he would work to import additional doses to reach as many citizens as possible.
Makhzoumi said that this type of cooperation would benefit a broader segment of the population and help accelerate the vaccination process, thereby easing the burden on citizens, reopening Lebanese markets, and bringing investors back, particularly given the close link between the economic and health situations.
Minister Hassan congratulated MP Makhzoumi on his humanitarian initiative, which he said also carried national significance. He highlighted its positive impact on the vaccination and immunization process, noting that such initiatives complement the Ministry of Health’s efforts to protect the country and its citizens.
