President of the National Dialogue Party and MP Fouad Makhzoumi received Turkish Ambassador to Lebanon Murat Lutem at his office in downtown Beirut, in the presence of Political Advisor Ms. Carol Zouein. They discussed the situation in Lebanon and the region.

Makhzoumi said the meeting was an opportunity to get acquainted and congratulate the ambassador on assuming his new duties in Beirut. He stressed the need to maintain the strongest possible relations between Beirut and Ankara, highlighting the importance of further cooperation across various sectors, including the economic, trade, and tourism sectors.

Makhzoumi also emphasized that the difficult regional circumstances require efforts to revive the country and preserve its stability. He stressed the need to ensure the full implementation of UN Security Council Resolution 1701 in all its provisions, as well as to strengthen the role of the Lebanese Army and provide it with the necessary support to protect and secure the borders.
