President of the National Dialogue Party and MP Fouad Makhzoumi met with the Ambassador of the State of Kuwait to Lebanon, Mohammed Sultan Al-Sharji, and discussed the latest developments in Lebanon and ways to support the country’s stability.
Makhzoumi expressed his deep appreciation to the State of Kuwait for its unwavering support for Lebanon and its people at every stage, emphasizing that Kuwait has been and continues to be a key partner in supporting Lebanon politically, humanitarianly, and developmentally, as well as a steadfast pillar of stability.
Makhzoumi stressed that the path to stability must be built on direct negotiations with Israel, in accordance with the initiative of His Excellency President of the Republic General Joseph Aoun, which he supports. Such negotiations should lead to an agreement that safeguards Lebanon’s interests and security, definitively ends recurring cycles of war, and prevents any party from dragging Lebanon in the future into military adventures that do not serve the national interest or involving it in regional conflicts for the benefit of external parties.
Makhzoumi reiterated his support for the government and its Prime Minister, stressing the need to implement the decisions it has taken regarding placing all weapons under state control and extending its authority throughout Lebanese territory. He also emphasized the importance of fully implementing international resolutions, including Israel’s withdrawal from Lebanese territory, paving the way toward a just and lasting peace.
