President of the National Dialogue Party and MP Fouad Makhzoumi met with the Ambassador of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan to Lebanon, Walid Al-Hadid, and discussed the latest developments in Lebanon, particularly the security situation following the announcement of the ceasefire.

Makhzoumi emphasized the importance of strengthening the Lebanese-Jordanian partnership and expanding areas of cooperation and coordination in ways that serve Lebanon’s stability and reinforce its Arab relations. He expressed his gratitude to the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, its leadership and people, for their continued support for Lebanon, particularly the dispatch of several convoys carrying food, relief, and medical supplies amid the difficult humanitarian conditions facing the country.

Makhzoumi renewed his appreciation for the efforts undertaken by the Presidents of the Republic and the Council of Ministers, which led to the achievement of a ceasefire—a crucial step toward protecting Lebanon and consolidating stability. He affirmed his full support for the ongoing negotiations, stressing that they must be decisive and accompanied by the complete and immediate disarmament of all illegal weapons, with all arms, without exception, placed exclusively under the authority of the Lebanese state. In this context, he noted that engagement with Israel must lead to an end to the war, its complete withdrawal, and the consolidation of Lebanese sovereignty.

Makhzoumi also reaffirmed his support for the government and its Prime Minister, underscoring his commitment to standing alongside the executive authority in all efforts aimed at restoring the state’s prestige and strengthening its institutions.
