President of the National Dialogue Party and MP Fouad Makhzoumi received Mr. Jean Arnault, the United Nations Special Coordinator for Lebanon, on a courtesy visit marking the assumption of his new post. Discussions focused on current developments in Lebanon and the region.

During the meeting, Makhzoumi emphasized the important role played by the United Nations in supporting Lebanon at this critical stage, particularly in strengthening state institutions, enhancing the resilience of local communities, and supporting efforts aimed at achieving economic and social recovery.

Makhzoumi also stressed that restoring Lebanon’s stability and sovereignty requires reinforcing the authority of the state and its legitimate institutions, as well as supporting the Lebanese Army and security forces in carrying out their responsibilities to protect the borders and extend state authority throughout Lebanese territory.

He affirmed that effective international cooperation is a fundamental pillar in helping Lebanon overcome its crises and move toward a new phase of reform, stability, and prosperity.
