President of the National Dialogue Party, MP Fouad Makhzoumi, received Belgian Ambassador Arnout Pauwels at his office in downtown Beirut, in the presence of Political Advisor Carol Zouein. They discussed the overall situation in Lebanon and the region.

Following the meeting, Makhzoumi stressed the importance of strengthening Lebanese-Belgian relations across various fields, highlighting the strong historical ties between Lebanon and Belgium and the need to safeguard the interests of both countries.

Makhzoumi emphasized the necessity of restoring the state’s full authority over its territory and ensuring that weapons remain exclusively in the hands of legitimate state institutions. He stressed that Lebanon urgently needs comprehensive and far-reaching reforms to restore domestic and international confidence in the state, its economy, and its institutions.

Makhzoumi further underscored that Lebanese unity and the people’s rallying around their state, their president, and their constitutional institutions are the key to navigating this difficult phase.
