President of the National Dialogue Party, MP Fouad Makhzoumi, congratulated General Joseph Aoun on his election as President of the Republic, wishing him a distinguished term marked by achievements. He expressed hope that this would mark the beginning of a new era heralding a stable and secure Lebanon, where the nation enjoys unity and social and economic security.

Makhzoumi affirmed his confidence that General Joseph Aoun would rise to the responsibilities of his office. He expressed hope that state institutions would be revitalized during his term and that a constitutional government would be formed, securing the confidence of a majority of Parliament and setting Lebanon on the path of reform. He also stressed the importance of completing the implementation of the Taif Agreement, ensuring a sustainable ceasefire between Lebanon and Israel, implementing all provisions of UN Security Council Resolution 1701, and supporting the Lebanese Army and security institutions so they can continue fulfilling their role in maintaining security and stability. He added that economic recovery must be a priority for the new presidency to help Lebanon overcome its crises.

Makhzoumi congratulated Lebanon and the Lebanese people on General Aoun’s election as President, wishing the Lebanese people a new era filled with optimism for stability, prosperity, and the proper functioning of state institutions.
