His Excellency Dr. Hamad Hassan
Minister of Public Health
Ministry of Public Health
Beirut, January 18, 2021
Dear Minister,
Subject: Request for Authorization to Import a Vaccine Against Coronavirus
Whereas our Foundation operates a medical clinic that provides a range of healthcare services, is accredited by your esteemed Ministry as a Primary Healthcare Center (Primary Care), is licensed to administer vaccinations as part of the Ministry of Public Health’s network, and has received Canadian accreditation with a rating of excellence;
And whereas the widespread outbreak of coronavirus threatens to have the gravest consequences unless concerted efforts are made to combat it, particularly by ensuring that the importation of vaccines against the virus is not restricted exclusively to the State or to a single vaccine;
Therefore,
We respectfully request that Your Excellency grant our Foundation authorization to import approximately 100,000 vaccine doses from one of the approved supplier companies, so that members of the public who wish to be vaccinated may receive their vaccinations at our clinic, as well as through coordination with other qualified medical centers.
We further request that these vaccines be exempt from all fees and taxes, particularly since the Foundation intends to provide vaccinations free of charge to all those who wish to receive them, without collecting any payment whatsoever.
We thank you in advance for favorably considering our request and giving us the opportunity to assist the Lebanese State, and particularly your esteemed Ministry, in its fight against the pandemic of our time. Upon receiving your favorable response, the Foundation’s officials will contact the Ministry to complete the necessary procedures.
Please accept, Your Excellency, the assurances of our highest consideration.
