President of the National Dialogue Party, MP Fouad Makhzoumi, received the Slovak Ambassador to Lebanon, Marek Varga, at his office in downtown Beirut, in the presence of Political Advisor Dr. Carol Zouein. They discussed the general situation.
Makhzoumi said the discussions addressed the importance of strengthening bilateral relations between the two countries, stressing that Lebanon looks forward to cooperation across various fields, including the economy, technology, trade, and tourism.
Separately, as the holy month of Ramadan begins, Makhzoumi renewed his call to stop placing obstacles in the way of forming a government of independent figures, from the prime minister to the ministers. While thanking Arab and French efforts to advance the government formation process, he warned that the situation facing the Lebanese people was unbearable, urging those responsible to fear God in their treatment of His people. He cautioned that the Lebanese people’s basic living needs could not wait for the luxury of dealing with a corrupt political class.
He concluded by stressing that the next government must begin implementing the required reforms to achieve the desired development, secure international support, and strengthen Lebanon’s image before the world.
