Lebanon relies heavily on the United Nations’ support in many vital areas, foremost among them the issue of displaced people, in order to ease the burden on Lebanon, provide support, and cooperate with the UN in the education and health sectors. These were the main topics I discussed today when I welcomed Philippe Lazzarini, the UN Resident Coordinator in Lebanon. We also discussed the difficult economic situation the country is going through.
